Union Grove High School Broncos Boys Varsity Golf Team Competes in SLC Conference Tournament
On a sun-drenched day with temperatures in the lower 70s, the Union Grove High School Broncos Boys Varsity Golf team partook in the SLC Conference Tournament on May 14, 2025, held at Brighton Dale Links. Competing against various formidable teams, the Broncos secured 6th place with a commendable team score of 341, while Waterford clinched the first position scoring 314.
The event showcased notable individual performances from the Broncos. Junior player Cody Nelson led the team with a score of 82, followed closely by senior Caleb Westrum, who carded an 85, and sophomore Jack Ryan with an 86. Cody Borchardt, another talented sophomore, rounded off with an 88 and senior Caden Eichner scored 93. These performances were crucial in ushering the team to their placing in a competitive field.
The tournament also served as a platform for individual accolades. Cody Nelson was anointed 2nd Team All-Conference, a significant recognition highlighting his skill and consistency throughout the season.
Looking ahead, the Broncos will continue their competitive journey at The Brown's Lake Rider Cup scheduled on May 19, 2025, at Brown's Lake, aiming to build on their experience and achieve superior results.
