Union Grove High School saw its Broncos boys varsity volleyball team in action during a home quad event on October 20, 2025, facing off against the teams from St. Lawrence, Horlick-Park, and Waterford. The Broncos emerged victorious in two out of three games, demonstrating solid play across all sets.
In the opening matches, Union Grove convincingly defeated St. Lawrence with scores of 25-9 and 25-7. They maintained their strong performance in the next match against Horlick-Park United, narrowly clinching the sets 26-24 and 27-25 respectively. However, in a thrilling series against Waterford, Union Grove split the sets, winning the second 25-16 but losing the first and third 20-25 and 13-15, giving Waterford the win.
Key players for the Broncos showcased remarkable skills throughout the event. Tyler Johnson led with a stunning 29 kills, followed closely by Caden Tajnai with 18 kills and Evan Henderson with 12. Defensively, Bradyen Lauf dominated the net with 5 blocks, with Johnson adding another 2. The defensive effort was further bolstered by Michael Domashevsky's impressive 47 digs. On the serving front, Asher Gonzales recorded 8 aces, with Cody Borchardt contributing 6 and Domashevsky 3.
