In a decisive non-conference soccer showdown, the Union Grove High School Broncos, led by standout performances from seniors and juniors alike, clinched a 3-0 victory over the Sauk Prairie Eagles on a cool, damp Friday night at the Union Grove High School field. The Union Grove girls' varsity soccer team, led by the strategic playmaking and goal-scoring of Rhyan Hood and Natalie Hammes, showcased their skills and determination in front of their home crowd.
The game began aggressively with Rhyan Hood, a senior, finding the net twice, first in the 10th minute and then again in the 33rd minute. Her initial goal, which set the pace for the game, was assisted by Ruby Christiansen, highlighting a well-coordinated team effort. Not to be outdone, junior Natalie Hammes added to the tally with a goal in the 15th minute, with an assist from Gabby Gutman, pushing the halftime score to 3-0 in favor of the Broncos.
Supported by a steadfast defense and the skillful goalkeeping of Sam Antonneau, the Broncos maintained their lead throughout the game, ensuring their stronghold and wrapping up with a final score of 3-0.
