Union Grove High School Broncos Earn Notable Success at Varsity Track and Field Event

In a spirited display of athleticism and skill, the Union Grove High School Broncos participated in a competitive Varsity Track and Field meet on May 7, 2025, at Waterford High School. The event saw Union Grove competing against schools such as Waterford Union, Waukesha West, Milwaukee King, and Milwaukee Washington.
Union Grove secured a fourth-place finish for both their Women's and Men's Varsity teams. Standout performances were numerous, with Jenna James securing first place in the Girls 400 Meter Dash with a stellar time of 1:02.02. In the Boys division, Nathan Tucker triumphed in the 200 Meter Dash, clocking in at 23.50 seconds. Moreover, the Boys 4x100 Meter Relay team, comprising Nathan Tucker, Justin Williamson, Cody Wegner, and Quinn Schultz, clinched first place with a time of 46.40 seconds.
Field events also highlighted Union Grove's prowess. Ashley Lamers excelled in the Girls Pole Vault, not only winning first place with a vault of 11-03.00 feet but also setting a new school record, improving her previous best of 11'1
" to 11'3"
. Samuel Matuszek mirrored this success in the Boys Pole Vault with a jump of 13-00.00 feet, and Cassie Klepp led the Girls Long Jump, securing first place with a leap of 16-00.00 feet.
Reflecting on the team's performance, the coach emphasized the athletes' improvement, noting, 'Our athletes are finding their rhythm as we close out the season,' which suggests a positive outlook for their upcoming events. The Broncos' next challenge will be on May 9, 2025, at Muskego High School, where they aim to continue their strong performance.
