BHS Girls Track & Field Compete at Avon Reynolds Relays!

On a sunny and warm day in Avon, Ohio, the girls track and field team competed against some of the best of the best in the 47th annual Avon Reynolds Relays, taking 12th overall.
The meet started with the field events, and in said events junior co-captain Riley Mitchell started the scoring with a near-PR in the Shot Put, taking 7th overall. Joining her in both the Shot and the Discus, freshman Chloe Pyros enjoyed some of her best throws in the Discus this season, notching a top-20 finish. Meanwhile, sophomore co-captain Jaiden Latimer-Smith continued her strong season in the High Jump, taking 10th!
In the track events, Jaiden helped the 4x100 team of herself, sophomore co-captain Mckenna Adkins, second year runner Birdie Krueger, and fellow co-captain Annie Willmitch take 6th while in the 4x200, Jaiden and Annie teamed with freshmen Ruby Render and Alex Linsenmeyer to take the team's best relay finish, 5th place overall versus some of the top teams in the area! Annie also enjoyed a 5th place finish in the 100 and a 7th place result in the 200 while Ruby finished in the top-10 in the 200. Ruby then led off the final event of the meet, the 4x400, and with sophomore Evin Mason, Birdie, and senior co-captain Hannah Starnes, took hope another top-10 finish on the track.
In the distance events, Hannah played a key role again, joining Anne Weber, Brooklyn Marriott, and senior Erin Belveal to take 8th overall. Anne and Erin weren't done, and would later finish 10th and 11th, respectively, in the 3200 towards the end of the meet!
The team will compete next Wednesday at home for Senior Night versus the Invaders of Normandy before finishing up their regular season at the Rocky River Bell Invitational on Friday, May 9th!
