Bay High School Rockets Girls' Varsity Lacrosse Team Faced a Challenging Last Regular Season Game

In a pivotal regular season game on May 3, 2025, the Bay High School Rockets' girls' varsity lacrosse team encountered tough weather and a tough opponent at the Bay Memorial Stadium. Despite the rainy conditions, the Rockets battled hard against Western Reserve Academy but fell short with a final score of 16 to 10 in favor of WRA.

The game started competitively, with WRA pulling slightly ahead by the half, leading 9 to 7. Throughout the match, key players from Bay High shined despite the adverse weather. Gracie Fitchpatrick led the Rockets with a commendable effort, scoring 4 goals. Jill Tennant followed closely with 3 goals, while Nolie Piktel added 2 and Avery Schriner, who also contributed an assist, scored 1 goal. The teamwork was further demonstrated through assists from Carlin Biondi, who assisted twice, boosting the offensive effort.

In goal, Sophia Crimaldi showed resilience and skill but ultimately, the Rockets could not contain the aggressive play of WRA. Looking ahead, Bay High is scheduled to face Olmsted Falls High School on May 7, 2025, in what promises to be a robust challenge in a rescheduled game originally set for late May. The Rockets, currently holding a record of 6-10, aim to rebound and finish their season strong.
