In an exhilarating matchup at Venture Park, the Bishop Foley Ventures varsity soccer team captured a commendable 4-2 victory against the Southfield Christian Eagles on October 9, 2024, elevating their season record to 4-12. The intense MHSAA District contest showcased the Ventures' resilience and tactical acumen as they overturned a narrow halftime lead to secure a decisive win.

The Ventures initiated the scoring momentum with two goals in the first half, entering halftime with a 2-1 lead. The second half saw an escalated effort from Bishop Foley, with two additional goals ensuring the defeat of the Eagles, finalizing the score line at 4-2. Scoring for Bishop Foley included stellar goals from Zachary Niphoratos, Isaac Marcial, Carmelo Martinez, and Mason Paul. Meanwhile, Michael Ruzycki brilliantly defended the Ventures' net, contributing significantly to the team's victory.

"The boys wanted the win, and you could see it in how they played. They moved the ball well, worked together, and created more opportunities. All while holding it down defensively,"

expressed Coach Julia Surratt, highlighting the team's coherent performance and strong defensive play.

Looking ahead, the Ventures are scheduled to confront Roeper at Shrine HS on October 15, 2024. The team looks to carry forward their winning momentum and further improve their standing in what promises to be yet another hard-fought game.
