Bishop Foley Lady Ventures Claim Victory Over Clawson in Vibrant Non-League Volleyball Clash

In an impressive display of skill and teamwork, the Bishop Foley Lady Ventures varsity volleyball team secured a hard-fought victory against the Clawson Trojans on Tuesday, October 29, 2024. The Lady Ventures, led by head coach Colleen, triumphed with a final score of 3-1 in this non-league encounter hosted in Clawson.
The match opened with both teams eager to establish dominance, but it was Bishop Foley that pulled ahead decisively in the second (25-17) and third sets (25-11), demonstrating their tactical prowess. Although Clawson managed to snag the fourth set (25-21), the Lady Ventures regrouped and clinched the match with a 25-21 win in the fifth set, illustrating their resilience and determination.
Key players such as Bridget Gilbert, who topped the scoreboard with 10 kills and 5 digs, played pivotal roles in the victory. Emma Stark and Mary LoBue also made significant contributions, with LoBue not only scoring 5 kills but also leading the team with 4 blocks. In support, Emma Behnke set up numerous scoring opportunities with 14 assists, and Mary Maltese served 3 aces to help secure the win.
Coach Colleen praised the team's performance, stating,
"It was nice to get in a game where we can get everyone in and clean up some things before we head into state playoffs next week when it becomes win or go home."
