In a thrilling display of skill and determination, the Bishop Foley Varsity Boys Basketball team clinched a victory against Austin Catholic at Venture Gymnasium on January 21, 2025. The final score stood at 46-39 in favor of Bishop Foley, marking a significant moment for the team amidst a challenging season.
The first half of the game was tightly contested, with Bishop Foley holding a slim lead of 20-17 over the Crusaders. The intensity did not wane after the break, leading to a nail-biting conclusion where Nathan Salazar and Rob Gjonaj became pivotal players. Salazar's crucial drive and layup extended Bishop Foley's lead to five points with just 70 seconds left on the clock. This was quickly followed by Gjonaj's stealthy steal and layup, effectively sealing the game with a seven-point lead.
