In a closely contested opening day on March 27, the Bishop Foley High School Lady Ventures Varsity Tennis team tied with Divine Child Falcons, concluding the non-league match with a 4-4 score. The competition, held at Divine Child, showcased remarkable fortitude and skill from both squads, with many matches extending into tiebreakers.
Highlight performances included a staunch effort by the pair Elysia Youkhanna and Kennedy Cerne in 1 Doubles, who after a resilient match, narrowly missed the win in a third-set tiebreaker. In the 4 Doubles slot, Aly Kelly and Sophia Moceri demonstrated dominance by securing a clean sweep in the second set after a tightly contested first set tiebreaker. Likewise, in 3 Doubles, Leah McCulloch and Rachel Pryjma edged out wins in both sets through tight tiebreakers. The 2 Doubles saw Sophia Kozadinos and Grace Leong securing a unanimous victory in straight sets.
