The Ventures concluded Game #1 with a spectacular no-hitter by Senior Tad Dobek, sealing a 10-0 victory. In Game #2, the Ventures overcame an early deficit to win 9-4, completing the sweep on an impressive note.
The initial contest commenced with Mason Kanar's sacrifice fly, bringing in a run in the first inning. The Ventures kept up the pressure, with Declan Schwartz and Carson Coles adding to the tally in the second inning. The Ventures' strategic plays and Cabrini's defensive errors gave the home team a 4-0 lead by the third inning, setting the tone for the rest of the match. Dobek’s standout performance included striking out eight and issuing three walks over six innings, commanding the game from the mound for the Ventures. Overall, Bishop Foley's aggressive base running and strong batting by Kanar, Cole Brinkmeier, Tyler Vogel, and Coles were pivotal, alongside 16 walks drawn by the team.
The second game saw the Monarchs initially take a lead with a 3-1 score by the second inning. However, the Ventures, led by a two-run double from Dobek in the third inning, rallied to post five runs, overtaking the Monarchs 6-3. Kanar's solo home run in the fifth further solidified the Ventures' lead. Cooper Dolot, pitching for seven innings, earned the win, despite surrendering nine hits and four runs. His performance was supported by strong defensive plays, including two double plays turned by the Ventures. Dobek and Connor Kokenos were notable at the bat, contributing significantly to the team's total of nine runs.
Looking ahead, the Ventures will face Father Gabriel Richard from Ann Arbor at Eastern Michigan University on May 8, 2025, aiming to build on their current record of 7 wins and 5 losses. This upcoming CHSL league game promises to be another showcase of the team's burgeoning talent and strategic play.
