Bishop Foley Lady Ventures Secure Convincing Victory in Soccer
On a sunny day at BFC Venture Field, the Bishop Foley Lady Ventures dominated Cardinal Mooney Cardinals with an 8-0 win on May 14, 2025. The Varsity Girls Soccer team, in a CHSL Non-League event, showcased their skill and teamwork, leaving a mark with a dramatic halftime lead of 7-0.
Macey Zielinski opened the scoring, followed by twos goals from Olivia Roye. Goals from Cecilia Lussier, Brigid Fitzpatrick, Arianna Olsowy, Emerson Sellers, and Brooke Wolfe rounded out the scoring, contributing to the commanding victory. This offensive showcase saw 4 freshmen adding their names to the scoreboard, highlighting a bright future for the team. Goalkeepers Geniveie Lussier and Grace Jeakle shared duties to earn a joint shutout, further cementing the strong defensive performance.
Head Coach Julia Surratt praised the team spirit, noting,
"It was a good game to see the girls connecting, having fun, and encouraging one another."
With this win, the Lady Ventures improve their season record to 7-5-4. Looking ahead, Bishop Foley is set to face ASH at the Academy of the Sacred Heart on May 19, 2025, at 4:30 PM.
