Knight Hockey Secures a Hat-Trick of Wins in Action-Packed Hockey Weekend
The Varsity Hockey team claimed a series of victories in a challenging hockey triple-header this past weekend. With three games in three consecutive days, the Knights finished the weekend with a perfect 3-0 record with wins against Upper Arlington, Northview, and Perrysburg.
The first victory came on Friday on the road against Upper Arlington with a decisive 6-2 win. Forward Cole Porvaznik '26 was in outstanding form, scoring a hat-trick, while Jaxon Duncan '26 contributed two goals, and Drew Tucker '25 rounded off the tally with one goal. The Knights first line of Tucker, Duncan, and Porvaznik was on full display scoring all 6 of the Knights goals.
Saturday's game vs Northview was a closely contested matchup with the Knights coming away with a 3-2 victory. Brayden Pryka '26, Robert Shepler '26, and Jamison Rose '25 each netted a goal in the 1st period. Goalie Carson Dirkmaat '25 made some key saves throughout the game to lead the Knights to a victory.
The weekend wrapped up with an overtime victory on Sunday against Perrysburg, with the lone, game-deciding goal scored by Jaxon Duncan '26, marking a thrilling end to weekend series.
The Varsity B team was also victorious last week, playing 3 games in 4 days. They defeated St. Johns 7-2, Upper Arlington 4-3, and Northview 4-1.
Looking ahead, Varsity will play at Bowling Green this Friday, at home vs Gabriel Richard on Saturday, and at Anthony Wayne on Sunday. Varsity B will play Saturday at Perrysburg and Sunday at Anthony Wayne.
