#7 Barons Take Down #2 Night Hawks in SSAC Tournament

In a decisive victory, the Brewton-Parker Barons softball team defeated the Thomas Night Hawks 6-2 on May 1st in Decatur, Ala., securing their advancement in the postseason college tournament. The Barons' dominance keeps them in the winners' bracket of the tournament and allows them to move on to day two.
The game kicked off with a dramatic start as Tori Wright smacked a double to center field in the first inning. Abbey Flowers further fueled the momentum with a two-run double to left field, setting an early lead for Brewton-Parker. The offensive efforts were supported by Lexi Bradshaw, Hannah Rust, Eboni Medina, and Shelby Aiken, who all crossed the plate.
Key contributors included Abbey Flowers, who not only scored but also drove in two crucial RBIs, and Eboni Medina and Alyssa Ussery also added RBIs. The pitching was solely handled by Natalie O'Neal, who dominated, going 7.0 with six hits and zero earned runs.
The Barons are set to face William Carey University (Miss.) in their next game on May 2nd, again in Decatur, Alabama.
