Avon High Eagles Gymnastics Notch Season High Score at Cleveland Public Auditorium

The Avon High Eagles showed formidable spirit and skill at the high-stakes gymnastics event held at the Cleveland Public Auditorium, finishing an impressive 5th among strong competition. Despite tough opponents including Aurora, Berkshire, and Buckeye, the Eagles managed to achieve their highest team score of the season, marking a significant milestone for the team.

Isa Sikora was a standout performer for the Eagles, securing 4th place overall with a stellar score of 34.15. Ryan Garlitz, Gianna Andress, and Daphne Ourednik each celebrated personal bests, with Garlitz hitting new peaks on Vault and Beam, Andress on Bars and Vault, and Ourednik making her mark on the Floor exercise. Coach Liz highlighted the supportive team atmosphere, noting,

"It was great to have the whole team here today. They are genuinely happy for each other and are each other's biggest supporters."

This commendable team dynamic was evident throughout the event.

In addition to the season high team score of 127.0 , this team earned season high teams scores on bars, beam and vault. Each athlete was a contributing factor to the team's success today.

With several challenges faced including a formidable lineup of competitors from 11 schools, the Eagles demonstrated resilience and determination. Looking forward, the Eagles are set to host the next meet at Great Lakes Gymnastics in Avon Lake for Senior Night, February 2, 2025, facing Berea-Midpark, North Ridgeville, Fairview, and North Olmsted. Fans and supporters of Avon High's Eagles can expect another thrilling performance as the team builds on their current momentum.
