Story Image

The Avon High School Eagles fell to the Berea-Midpark Titans in a closely contested Southwest Conference baseball game on April 21, 2025. The matchup, held at Crushers Stadium under sunny and cool conditions, ended with a 6-4 score in favor of the conference rival Berea-Midpark Titans.

Senior pitcher Luke Holtzman started the game for the Eagles, setting a competitive tone early in the event. Avon’s performance was highlighted by notable hits from Senior #30 Jason Gillespie, Senior #7 Sam Spike, Senior #15 Andrew Falasco, and Sophomore #35 Bryce Chura, all contributing to the team's four runs. The RBI efforts were led by Senior #20 Baron Eberly with 2, Senior #10 Robby Sykora with 1, and Sophomore #16 Nathan Peters, who also added 1 RBI.

Despite the Eagles' strong efforts, Berea-Midpark clinched the victory, improving the Titans' standing and leaving Avon with a 3-7 record. The Eagles are scheduled to face Berea-Midpark again tomorrow, April 22, at Kennedy Field at Brookpark Rec Center. The team looks forward to an opportunity for redemption in this back-to-back encounter with their conference rivals.
