St. Edward Freshman Green Basketball Dominates St. Vincent-St. Mary with a Resounding Victory
On December 30, 2024, St. Edward High School's Freshman Green basketball team showcased an impressive performance against St. Vincent-St. Mary, securing a commanding 72-38 win in their regular season encounter. Hosted at St. Edward High School, the Eagles demonstrated their prowess right from the tip-off and maintained a dominant lead throughout the game. St. Edward's Freshman Green team took an early advantage, ending the first quarter with a significant 29-10 lead. Their momentum persisted into halftime, where they led 42-20 against the Fighting Irish. Cooper Seidner was a standout player for the Eagles, scoring 18 points, followed by Rowan Sessor with 11 points, and Kaleb Gettis, who not only scored 10 points but also contributed significantly on defense with 6 blocks. Maxson Tate also chipped in with 9 points, illustrating the depth and talent within the team. In addition to the top scorers, Dom Marcellino's step-back 3-pointer and James Dissell's steal to a reverse layup were among the key highlights that energized the team and the home crowd. "We played team basketball and got a team win. A great way to end 2024! I look forward to learning more and playing tough basketball for the remainder of the season."
