Baraboo High School has announced the hiring of Justin Litscher as the new Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach. Litscher, who brings a wealth of experience from various coaching positions, is set to lead the Thunderbirds starting with the 2025-26 season. Litscher’s coaching resume includes roles as the Freshman Head Coach and Varsity Assistant at Baraboo from 1998 to 2000, as well as his tenure at Madison College where he served as the Assistant/Associate Head Coach for Men's Basketball from 2004 to 2015. Additionally, he has been the Director of Wisconsin Swing AAU from 2005 to 2024, where his leadership and coaching prowess were notably recognized when he was named Coach of the Decade by NY2LA Sports in 2019. Justin has most recently worked to develop future Thunderbirds, serving as the current Director of Baraboo Youth Girls Basketball, while coaching the current 4th Grade and 8th Grade teams. Baraboo’s Athletic Director, Jim Langkamp, expressed great enthusiasm about the hire, stating, "Coach Litscher brings a tremendous amount of experience, from youth basketball through the college game. Players at all levels in our program will have an opportunity to work hard to reach their maximum potential." Justin Litscher himself is eager to commence this new chapter at Baraboo. "I am truly honored and excited for the opportunity to lead the Baraboo Girls Basketball program, and represent our community. I look forward to building meaningful relationships with our student athletes to help them reach our team and individual goals. This will come from our commitment to accountability, effort, execution and a commitment to something bigger than self," said Litscher.
