Baraboo High School Wrestling Faces Tough Challenge Against Portage

Baraboo High School's varsity wrestling team faced a challenging dual meet against the Portage Warriors at home on January 24, 2025. Despite a spirited performance, the Thunderbirds were overcome by the Warriors with a final score of Baraboo 23, Portage 57. The meet opened with a standout performance by Peyton Oberg in the 138 lbs. category, securing a pin in just 38 seconds. Nolan Owen also delivered an impressive victory, recording a fall at 2:17. The victory was the 100th of Owen's career. Additionally, Dezmen Severson dominated at 120 lbs., achieving a technical fall that marked the final victory for the Thunderbirds that evening. Despite these key moments, the overall result tilted in favor of the visiting Warriors. The Thunderbirds currently stand with a 0-4 record in Badger Conference dual meets, as they prepare for their next contest. They will be visiting Stoughton High School to face off against the Vikings on January 28, 2025.
