Boys Soccer has dominant performance at Lake MillsTournament to earn a Championship

On September 20, 2025, the Baraboo Thunderbirds Boys Varsity Soccer team triumphed in a dominant performance at the Lake Mills High School, sealing the championship against formidable opponents in a tournament featuring Delavan-Darien and Lake Mills. In the initial match against the Delavan-Darien Comets, Baraboo set a powerful pace with Brayden Ferrera-Hunter opening the scoring, followed by spectacular strikes from Kai Hollenbeck-Smith and Isaiah Romano Thompson who netted a hat-trick, sealing a decisive 5-1 victory. Halftime had seen Baraboo already in the lead, 1-0. The second game saw the Thunderbirds facing the Lake Mills L-Cats, where once again, Brayden Ferrera-Hunter and Justin-Lee Penn managed to find the back of the net. Despite humid conditions, the Thunderbirds preserved their stamina and tactical prowess to end the match with a 2-1 win, leading with a commanding 2-0 at halftime. While Evan Eilertson's goaltending skills were prominently on display throughout the tournament, the team also saw significant contributions with assists by Brayden Ferrera-Hunter, Finnley Schindler, and Jedric Zech, further emphasizing the Thunderbirds’ team cohesion and strategic execution. Coach's comments on the team's performance, describing it as 'an absolute dominant performance all around the field,' highlight the meticulous preparation and skillful play. Looking ahead, the Baraboo Thunderbirds are preparing to face Beaver Dam at Baraboo High School on September 23, 2025. Carrying a record of 6-4 Overall and 1-2 in Conference, the Thunderbirds aim to continue their winning momentum into the remainder of the season.
