In a heartwarming display of community engagement, the Lyndhurst Police Department, led by School Resource Officer and Community Relations Liaison Dave Lozada, participated in the South Euclid-Lyndhurst School District's ARC Family Wellness Night. Held on February 27, 2025, at 4875 Glenlyn Road, Lyndhurst, Ohio, this event was not just another gathering; it was a comprehensive initiative aimed at enhancing family wellness and active lifestyles among students and their families.

Cory Morrow, the district's Strength Coach and the host for the evening, articulated that the event was centered around encouraging students and their families to embrace an active lifestyle. 'The goal of the event is to focus on getting the students and family to be active,' Morrow stated. Not just about physical fitness, Morrow, who is also the Wellness Coach for the district, aims to mold students through impactful influences similar to those he experienced while playing professional arena football.

Further enriching the event, Associate Athletic Director and Varsity Girls Flag Football Coach Jerome Jackson highlighted the intrinsic value of sports in teaching young athletes to handle life's challenges. Esports Coach Kendra Jordan, an alumnus of Brush High School Class of 2006, shared her joy in observing students labeled 'Socially Awkward' students come out of their shells and bond with other students athletes over shared activities in a supportive environment.

The impact of the night resonated well beyond the event's attendees. Parents Marcus and Rea Hedge appreciated the inclusive atmosphere, noting that their 5th grader, Laingstyn, thrived in showcasing his football skills, while their daughter Gianna looks forward to her high school journey, involving track and flag football tryouts.

This community-centric participation by SRO Lozada and the Lyndhurst Police Department underlines their commitment to fostering a supportive and engaging environment for the community they serve, making it a night to remember for many.
