Lyndhurst Police Department Hosts Art Contest for Sunview Elementary 3rd Graders

On May 30, 2025, the Lyndhurst Police Department (LPD) organized a valuable community engagement event at Sunview Elementary school in Lyndhurst, Ohio. The event, a 3rd Grade Art Contest, aimed to foster a creative connection between law enforcement and the local youth.
Lyndhurst officers hosted the event at Sunview Elementary located at 5520 Meadow Wood Blvd., setting the stage for a day filled with creative expression and interaction. This initiative was part of the department's ongoing effort to build positive relationships within the community.
Executive Lt. Chris Cianciolo was on hand to present awards to burgeoning young artists. His presence was received warmly, and he highlighted the significance of the event in his statement.
"The best part was witnessing the dance contest. Seeing the children's eyes light up by our presence was profoundly rewarding,"
said Lt. Cianciolo.
Principal Arika Taylor of Sunview Elementary also expressed her enthusiasm about the contest and its impact on the students.
"The students were really engaged; there were some very good drawings. It generated a lot of interest from the children. The competition was very close and it was difficult selecting the winners,"
she commented.
This event underscores the LPD's dedication to engaging with the community through diverse activities, enhancing common bonds, and fostering a safer, more inclusive environment.
