Lyndhurst Police Department Engages with Local Daycare on Safety Awareness
In an effort to bolster community connections and awareness on safety, officers from the Lyndhurst Police Department visited the Lyndhurst Community of Faith Day Care on September 25, 2025. This visit was part of their ongoing community engagement initiatives aimed at enhancing the relationship between law enforcement and community members.
During the visit, Sgt. Tim Eliopoulos and S.R.O. Dave Lozada interacted with the young attendees in an educational session themed 'Visit with Friends.' Sgt. Tim hosted an interactive workshop titled 'Safe, Not Safe', where children were presented with various scenarios to categorize them as safe or unsafe. His approach was both engaging and educational, as kids enthusiastically participated and demonstrated a keen understanding of safety principles. Moreover, Sgt. Tim discussed the concepts of 'Strangers' versus 'Safe Strangers' and provided essential tips on what to do if children find themselves lost.
The event was well received, as reflected by the appreciation shared by Miss Jo Jo, a daycare representative. She expressed gratitude towards the officers for their commitment and proactive efforts in educating the children about safety. This initiative by the Lyndhurst Police Department not only educates the young minds but also strengthens the trust and relationship between the community and law enforcement.
