Tucker Katterhagen Drives In 4 To Lead Union Grove Varsity Broncos Past South Milwaukee Varsity Rockets
Tucker Katterhagen drove in four runs on two hits to lead Union Grove past South Milwaukee Rockets 12-2 on Saturday. Katterhagen singled in the first scoring two, singled in the third scoring two, and walked in the second scoring one.
Union Grove won thanks in part to seven runs in the first inning. Matthew Gruber singled, scoring one run, Kevin Brau drew a walk, scoring one run, Katterhagen singled, scoring two runs, Leo Weist doubled, scoring one run, Drew Dinauer hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and Dominic Pascucci singled, scoring one run.
A walk by Katterhagen extended the Union Grove Varsity Broncos lead to 8-0 in the top of the second inning.
Union Grove added to their early lead in the top of the third inning when Jake Reesman grounded out, scoring one run, and Katterhagen singled, scoring two runs.
Jude Rogowski earned the win for Union Grove. The right-handed pitcher gave up four hits and two runs over three innings, striking out five and walking two. Easton Nowak took the loss for South Milwaukee Rockets. The pitcher went two-thirds of an inning, giving up seven runs on five hits, striking out one and walking two. Evan Northup threw two innings of zero-run ball for Union Grove in relief. The righty allowed one hit, striking out two and walking one.
Union Grove Varsity Broncos piled up 13 hits in the game. Weist, Katterhagen, Gruber, and Pascucci each collected two hits for the Broncos. Cooper Dye led Union Grove with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, tallying six walks for the game. Gruber, Dye, and Pascucci each stole multiple bases for Union Grove. Union Grove ran wild on the base paths, tallying 10 stolen bases for the game. Union Grove turned one double play in the game.
