Hage Leads Broncos to Victory
Union Grove jumped out to the lead in the top of the fourth inning after Tucker Katterhagen singled, scoring one run, Leo Weist tripled, scoring two runs, and Jake Reesman singled, scoring one run.
Kody Hage earned the win for Union Grove Broncos. The hurler allowed two hits and one run (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out six and walking two. Abe Herchenbach took the loss for Elkhorn Varsity. The right-handed pitcher went five innings, allowing four runs on six hits, striking out eight and walking one.
Weist led Union Grove Broncos with two runs batted in. The shortstop went 1-for-3 on the day. Hage went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Union Grove Broncos in hits.
Mason Olson and Ethan Woller each collected one hit for Elkhorn Elks. Derrik Beckstrand led the team with one run batted in.
