Bay Varsity Rockets Suffer Narrow Loss to Benedictine Varsity Bengals
In an eagerly anticipated regular season non-conference baseball game on April 23, 2025, the Bay Varsity Rockets faced off against the Benedictine Varsity Bengals in an away setting. The game concluded with a defeat for the Rockets, marking a 0-3 loss in what was described as warm and sunny weather conditions.
Starting pitcher Travis Ropelewski delivered a commendable performance on the mound for the Rockets, tossing six innings with two earned runs, striking out five batters and allowing four hits. Despite the solid pitching, the Rockets' offense struggled to find its rhythm, managing only a single hit throughout the game. That hit came from Trevor Ormsby, who successfully landed a double, earning him recognition for his contribution.
The loss takes the Rockets' current record to an even 5-5 as they prepare to host Buckeye at Bay High School on April 24, 2025. The quick turnaround gives the team little rest but provides an opportunity to bounce back in front of a home crowd. As they regroup for the next challenge, the Rockets will look to leverage their home field advantage and improve their standing in the season.
