Varsity Football improves to 2-1 with a victory over Brother Rice last Friday at the Glass Bowl
In a thrilling display of offensive football, the Knights triumphed over Brother Rice with a decisive 49-28 victory last Friday at The Glass Bowl improving their record to 2-1 for the season.
The game kicked off with a swift touchdown by Raheem Brown ('25), who sprinted for a 65-yard touchdown just over two minutes into play. The Knights next drive looked almost identical to their first drive which ended in a Raheem Brown ('25) 72-yard touchdown. Momentum continued to build with Eli Beal ('26) extending the Knights lead to 21-7 with a 15 yard run for a touchdown.
Brother Rice answered with a touchdown of their own to close the Knights lead to 21-14. That's when Eli Beal ('26) had a critical 51-yard receiving touchdown with only 40 seconds remaining in the first half to give the Knights a 14 point lead at the half.
Both defenses slowed down the scoring in the 3rd quarter holding each other scoreless. Brother Rice scored just a 1:30 into the 4th quarter to get within a touchdown. Drew Tucker ('25) responded quickly with a 90-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, marking his second kickoff return this year.
Eli Beal ('26) continued the scoring with 2 more touchdowns in the 4th quarter. Beal finished with an impressive 153 yards rushing, culminating in four touchdowns.
Looking ahead, the Knights (2-1) are set to face Clyde (3-0) next Friday at Clyde High School. Kickoff is set for 7pm.
