Aqua Knights Shine at OHSAA Division 1 Swimming State Finals

The Aqua Knights delivered impressive performances at the OHSAA Division 1 State Finals held this past Saturday at C.T. Branin Natatorium. The Knights scored 119 points, securing a 7th place finish among the top teams in the state.
The team's success was highlighted in a variety of events, starting with the 200 yard medley relay where Max Buff '25, Oliver Lazenby '25, Ben Quisno '26, and Brady Sanchez '25 clinched 5th place with a time of 1:32.64. Senior Landon Harman also made a significant impact by taking 7th place in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:42.06.
A standout moment came in the 100 yard butterfly, where Senior Max Buff emerged as the STATE CHAMPION, clocking an impressive time of 47.21 seconds. He continued his exceptional performance by securing the State Runner-Up position in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 47.74 seconds.
Furthermore, Senior Oliver Lazenby placed 10th in the 100 yard breaststroke, recording a time of 58.09. The team also showed strength in relay events, finishing 12th in the 200 yard freestyle relay and 6th in the 400 yard freestyle relay, demonstrating depth and teamwork.
This year's state finals showcased the dedication and hard work of the Aqua Knights and highlighted their strong presence in state-level swimming competitions. Their performances leave a remarkable footprint for the team's legacy!
