Knights Clinch Victory in Basketball Season Opener at The PIT
In a thrilling start to the basketball season, all three levels defeated Waite in their season opener last night at The Pit. The Freshmen team started things off with a 54-22 victory. The JV team followed with a 60-20 victory. The Varsity team decisively defeated Waite with a final score of 90-55.
Dominating from the start, the Knights led by a convincing 23 points at halftime, setting the tone for the rest of the game. Senior Jameson Heck led the scoring for the Knights with an impressive 23 points, closely followed by Freshman Chris Poellnitz who added 18 points to the total. Junior Alan Horton also played a key role, contributing 13 points to the team's victory. With such strong performances from these top scorers, the Knights showcased their offensive capabilities early in the season.
This victory marks a strong start for the Knights, setting their current team record at 1-0. Looking ahead, the Knights are scheduled to travel to Lima Central Catholic this Saturday. The Knights aim to continue their winning streak and build on their successful season opener.
