Loyola Detroit Bulldogs Secure Victory in MSHAA Playoffs Against Mt. Clemens
The Loyola Detroit Bulldogs clinched a commanding victory in their first-round playoff game against the Mt. Clemens High School Battling Bathers on November 1, 2024. Playing away at Mt. Clemens High School on a cool night, the Bulldogs dominated with a final score of 28-8, enhancing their season record to 4-6.
The Bulldogs took an early lead and held a decisive 28-8 score by halftime, which remained unchanged through the second half. Sophomore Lamarr Davis showcased a stellar performance, contributing three touchdowns—two rushing and one passing. His overall effort included 100 yards rushing and 25 passing, making substantial ground for the team. Junior Antonio Vasquez and Sophomore Emauri Beard also contributed to the scoreboard, with Vasquez scoring a rushing touchdown and Beard securing a receiving touchdown among his four catches and 75 all-purpose yards.
Defensively, the Bulldogs were strengthened by Freshman Amir Parham who not only recorded his first career interception but also contributed three tackles. His efforts were pivotal in maintaining the lead and ensuring a Bulldog victory.
Looking ahead, the Bulldogs are set to face Lutheran Northwest High School for the district championship in an away contest scheduled for November 8, 2024, at 7 pm. The team hopes to carry forward the momentum and strategies that led them to their recent victory as they prepare for the upcoming district championship game.
