Beekmantown Sweeps NCCS Behind Balanced Attack
CHAMPLAIN — The Beekmantown Eagles kept rolling Tuesday night, powering past the Northeastern Clinton (NCCS) Cougars in straight sets (25–18, 25–6, 25–15) to move to 4–1 on the season.
From the opening serve, Beekmantown established control. The Eagles used a balanced attack, with senior hitters Julia Conroy and Kylie Bishop each recording eight kills. Bishop added a match-high five service aces, while Conroy contributed four of her own to keep NCCS on the defensive.
Setter Sawyer Fleming steered the offense with 20 assists, consistently putting her hitters in good position. Ava Dauphinais chipped in 11 assists as the Eagles’ ball distribution kept the Cougars guessing.
Defensively, Conroy also led with four digs, supported by Gabby Vassar’s three. At the net, Sophia Kenyon tallied a block to cap Beekmantown’s well-rounded effort.
Head coach Abby Bone credited the team’s consistency and cohesion in the win.
“Good team effort tonight,” she said. “Julia kept us grounded throughout the match, and Sawyer was key in running the offense while also racking up points herself.”
The second set proved most dominant for Beekmantown, as they cruised 25–6 on the strength of sharp serving runs and aggressive net play. NCCS showed fight in the opener and third set but couldn’t match the Eagles’ depth and rhythm.
With the win, Beekmantown improves to 4–1 overall and turns its focus to a Thursday home matchup against Saranac.
