From the beginning, St. Bonaventure capitalized on Brown's mistakes, establishing an early lead, going up 14-0 in the first 15 minutes. Brown retained possession and threatened to score twice during the next 10 minutes, but were unable to convert their attacking opportunities into points. Momentum swung back in Bonnies' favor, and they were able to score a trio of tries in the last 10 minutes of the half. At halftime, the scoreboard read Brown 0-31 St. Bonaventure. Throughout the match, Brown struggled to find their rhythm against a well-organized St. Bonaventure defence, while the powerful Bonnies' ball carriers were able to puncture the Bears' defensive line.

The second half was an improvement for the Bears on defence, as they held Bonnies to 20 points on 3 tries, a conversion, and a penalty kick. Brown's only try came late in the game from a lineout maul deep in St. Bonaventure territory during the 74th minute, when Garett Mann managed to touch it down over the goalline at the back of the pack. Tito Edjua successfully converted the try. The match concluded with a final score of Brown 7-51 St. Bonaventure.

Head Coach David Laflamme reflected on the match with a sense of resilience,

"Today was obviously not our best performance, or what we trained for in the weeks leading up to this match. We committed too many unforced errors, and against a team of Bonnies' quality, you'll get punished for every mistake. Good luck to them and Coach Neighbour in the rest of the tournament. Our players should not let today's outcome diminish their accomplishments this season; we achieved a 5th consecutive undefeated regular season, a 5th consecutive Ivy League Championship, and a 4th consecutive Liberty Conference Championship. Those accolades don't come easily. This group of seniors, in particular, has had an unprecedented run of success; winning the NCR National Championship as freshmen and last year as juniors, and in addition to the Liberty and Ivy Championships, they've had only 2 losses in XVs over that time, while never losing a home match."

Brown Men's Rugby ends the Fall 2025 season with a strong record of 9-1, scoring 496 points while allowing only 151. The Bears will retake the field for the Spring 2026 season in February 2026. The club wishes the entire Brown Rugby community Happy Holidays!
