Brown Men's Rugby Bears Clinch Victory at Cianci 7's Tournament
In a thrilling series of rugby games, the Brown Men's Rugby Bears emerged victorious once again in the Cianci 7's Tournament, defending their title in the Competitive Division. The event took place on a cold, clear, and notably windy day on November 24, 2024, challenging the teams with the weather as much as with the competition.
Coach Ryan Grant praised his team's resilience, particularly after a tough start in the pool play where the Bears lost two close games.
"The players showed a lot of resiliency today, after dropping 2 very close matches during pool play we were able to make the adjustments necessary to have success in the championship rounds. It can be tough spending about 8 hours on the Sunday before the Thanksgiving break out here in the cold, but these guys kept their spirits high and got the job done in the end,"
stated Coach Grant.
His team's determination paid off as they rallied to dominate the championship rounds, culminating in a robust celebration of their back-to-back titles in the Competitive Division. This victory not only highlights their skill and tenacity but also solidifies their reputation as a formidable force in 7's rugby tournaments. The Bears have once again confirmed their dominance on the field, underscoring a successful season with a well-earned championship victory.
