Regina High School volleyball standout, Ella Sikorski, reached a significant milestone in her illustrious athletic career by recording her 1000th dig during the Program Cup held on September 7, 2024. This remarkable achievement was celebrated before their recent game against LHN on September 10, where the Regina community took a moment to honor Sikorski's contribution to the team.

Ella Sikorski, serving as the starting libero for Regina over four seasons, has consistently demonstrated her skill and resilience on the court. Her volleyball journey, previously recognized with accolades such as All Catholic, All Region, and Second Team All State placements, reflects her dedication and prowess in the sport. Aside from volleyball, Sikorski is also a noted basketball player and a promising soccer player, showcasing her versatile athletic abilities across multiple sports platforms.

The recognition ceremony featured heartfelt praises from Emily Frikken, the Athletic Director at Regina. Frikken expressed admiration for Sikorski’s commitment to athletics and academics, stating,

"Ella is truly one of the most impressive student-athletes we have here at Regina. I am in awe of her dedication to all her commitments as well as how she balances it all. She is a true example of a student-athlete. She excels in all three of the sports she plays while being one of the top academic students in her class."

Frikken also highlighted Sikorski's humility and the significance of her reaching the 1000 digs milestone.

Head Coach Laura Papa added,

"Ella is a phenomenal athlete and student. She has been a very impactful player at Regina and we are so very proud of her."

When asked about the milestone, Sikorski expressed her humility again by praising her teammates:

"I feel extremely grateful that my teammates and classmates were there for the celebration and game. I'm really happy to be a part of this team and all our accomplishments. I truly couldn't do any of this without my teammates."

As Sikorski continues to set benchmarks in her senior year, her legacy at Regina High not only exemplifies exceptional athletic performance but also embodies the true spirit of a student-athlete, making her a role model for peers and future Saddlelites.
