Regina High Saddlelites Shine at Varsity Quad Track and Field Event

Regina High School's girls track and field team, the Saddlelites, delivered strong performances at the Varsity Quad meet held at Lutheran North High School on April 29, taking second place with a total of 69 points among competitors from Lutheran North, Everest Collegiate, Austin Catholic, and Bishop Foley.
Under sunny skies, the Saddlelites saw several of their athletes reaching podium finishes and setting personal and season records. Senior Sabrina Sokol earned third place in the 400m with a time of 1:06.54 and fourth in the 200m sprint, clocking at 29.04 seconds.
"It was a solid meet, especially coming right off spring break. We're staying focused and looking forward to improving as we prepare for the CHSL championships and MHSAA regionals,"
said Sokol, reflecting on the team's performance.
Elizabeth Ambroggio emerged victorious in the 800m race, setting a top time of 2:35.1, while Natalie Lentine took second in the 3200m with a season-record time of 13:09.7. In the hurdles, Victoria Millett clinched second place in the 100m event with a time of 19.10, and Maddie Yezback followed suit in the 300m hurdles, finishing at 56.69. The 4x100m relay team, comprising Bailee Roth, Lucia Francuck, Erin Haugh, and Victoria Millett, also took home first place with a relay time of 57.65.
In field events, Elizabeth Kemp set a personal record in the shot put, throwing a distance of 25'2.5".
Looking ahead, the Regina High Track and Field team is set to compete next on May 2nd at Warren Woods Tower, where they face a new set of challengers including Chippewa Valley and Grosse Pointe North among others. With the season progressing, the Saddlelites remain poised for further success, driven by their recent achievements and a strong team spirit.
