Regina High School Saddlelites Track and Field Face-Off at Dual Meet

In a spirited track and field dual meet held on May 5, 2025, Regina High School's Saddlelites, led by coach Gregg Golden, contended strongly against Marian at Brother Rice under sunny skies. The event also marked Senior Day, celebrating the accomplishments and future endeavors of seniors from both schools.
Each athlete's performance was crucial, with several Regina competitors achieving personal and season's bests. Elizabeth Ambroggio clinched the 1600 meters with a season-best time, highlighting the meet's competitive atmosphere. Victoria Millett showed remarkable prowess in hurdle events, recording season's bests in both. Arianna Haidar and Susan Spears made significant personal records in their distance events, while Sabrina Sokol notably excelled in the 100 and 400 meters races, achieving personal bests including a memorable time of 1:05.02 in the 400 meters.
Natalie Lentine won the 3200 meters race with a time of 12:56.77, while Mary Thacker succeeded in the high jump, reaching 3'10". These individual achievements provided a strong showing for Regina, though Marian's depth ultimately proved formidable.
The event wasn't just a competition but a joint celebration of senior athletes' dedication and impact over their high school careers, with both teams sharing the festivities. Looking ahead, Regina is set to compete in another event on May 10, 2025, at Detroit Catholic Central, facing rivals such as St. Ursula, Notre Dame Academy, Mercy, Divine Child, and once again Marian.
