Regina High Saddlelites Face Tough Loss Against Troy Athens in JV-B Basketball 1/9

On January 9, 2025, the Regina High School Saddlelites faced a challenging basketball outing against the Troy Athens High School Redhawks, resulting in a 16-44 loss in their regular season encounter. Held at the opponent's court, the Saddlelites struggled to keep pace with the athletic prowess of the Redhawks.

Mary Thacker led the scoring for the Saddlelites with 10 points, in addition to a rebound, assist and steal. Other contributors included Lauren Muhlenkamp, who notched 2 points, a rebound and a block, and Mia Schlender, who added 2 points and grabbed 3 rebounds. Schlender's performance was particularly noteworthy as she scored her first bucket of the season, a key moment for the young athlete. Ella McCormick also played a vital role, securing 2 points alongside a rebound and a steal. Defensively, Josie Evoy led the team with 4 rebounds.

The game posed substantial challenges for Regina, with the team finding it difficult to match the intensity of Troy Athens. The JV-B team looks to use this experience to refine their skills and strategy in upcoming games.
