In a dramatic showdown at Marian, Cicerone Court on January 28, the Regina High School JV-A basketball team came tantalizingly close to upsetting the Marian Mustangs in a regular season matchup, ultimately falling short by just one point with a final score of 49-48.

The game saw the Regina Saddlelites trailing at the half, down 26-20, but they mounted a fierce comeback in the latter stages. Cate Seip led the charge for Regina as the top scorer in the contest. Support came from Morgan Thimm and Elyse Mlynarek, each adding 7 points, and Riley Scenga contributing 11 points, including some crucial plays such as the notable rebound and score captured in the featured photo.

Elyse Mlynarek reflected on their performance, stating,

"I thought we played much better in the second half. The intensity was higher and everyone hustled to make the game come down to one point."

These sentiments echo the determination and grit displayed by the Saddlelites during the second half.

Despite the loss, the close scoreline points towards a resilient Regina team ready to face their next challenge. They are set to host Divine Child on January 31 at their home court in a bid to bounce back and showcase their continued progression and teamwork.
