The varsity girls' team competed under perfect golfing conditions, with mid-80s weather and sunny skies, contributing to their excellent performance in the 9-hole stroke play format.

Top performances were delivered by several Lions Golf members, setting the tone for a triumphant round. Senior Eliza Mercer took the spotlight by carving out a new school record with a remarkable score of 31, breaking the previous 9-hole record set in 2017. Emma Mizer, another senior, achieved a personal record by shooting a steady 35. Further contributing to the team's success, Katie Damratoski, Sydney Galloway, Claire Syzmanski, and Lillian Dimmerling posted scores of 49, 51, 53, and 54, respectively.

Coach Taylor Funkhouser expressed immense pride in her team's early season performance, highlighting the skill and dedication displayed by the girls. 'I'm very proud of these girls, it is early in the season and they are playing really well,' Funkhouser commented. This victory not only reflects the strong potential of the Lions Golf team but also sets a high benchmark for upcoming matches in their season schedule.
