Gahanna Lincoln High School Lions showcased their capabilities at the OHSAA Preseason Invitational, held on August 16, 2025, at Fortress Obetz, a prestigious venue known for hosting the OHSAA State Championship Cross Country Event. The Lions' performance at this early season meet foreshadowed a promising season ahead.

The girls' varsity team, under the guidance of Head Coach Ryan Callihan, clinched first place with an impressive total of 54 points. Coach Callihan praised the team's effort and preparation, stating,

"We had a goal today to go out and show everyone the hard work we put in this summer, and the girls executed on that plan!"

Highlighting individual achievements, Senior Ruby Lewis delivered an outstanding performance by finishing in 2nd place with a time of 18:20, marking a career-best by 20 seconds. Following closely, Senior Olivia Smeck also set a new personal milestone, finishing 4th with a time of 18:45, bettering her previous best by 20 seconds. Additionally, Sophomore Jillian Gomez excelled by finishing 9th, clocking in at 19:13 and beating her personal record by 16 seconds.

These individual successes contributed significantly to the Lions' victory at the event, showcasing the depth and talent present in the Gahanna Lincoln Girls' Cross Country team.
