Saints Dominate Best of the West Meet
Seton High School's varsity track and field team excelled on May 2, clinching the top spot at the Best of the West Meet hosted by Oak Hills High School.
In a standout display of teamwork and skill, the Saints collected a total of 163 points to secure first place overall in the meet. In the running events, Madison Thatcher, Kiley Ackerman, Tess Riestenberg, and Anna Groh clinched first place in the 4x100 shuttle hurdle relay with a time of 1:08.63. Ava Glahn took first in the 400-meter dash, with a time of 1:00.76, while Gianna Corey finished right behind her in second place at 1:01.95. Seton's Heidi Harmeyer also secured first place in the 800-meter run, crossing the line at 2:25.87, followed closely by teammate Abby Condren.
Field events were equally successful for the Saints, with Brooke Goshorn's 34'2
" throw securing her the top spot in shot put. Kelli Silbernagel joined in the success, finishing second in discus with a throw of 92 feet. Anna Groh secured a second place finish in the long jump with a leap of 17'8"
.
The meet garnered key victories as the team prepares for the GGCL Prelims, which is set to take place May 7 at La Salle High School.
