Holy Name Green Wave Victorious in Conference Basketball Against Lake Catholic
On Friday night, the Holy Name Green Wave women's varsity basketball team secured a victory against the Lake Catholic Cougars. The game, part of the regular season conference matchups and celebrated as Youth Night, concluded with a score of 50-41 in favor of the Green Wave.
The Green Wave led from start to finish. Claire Coljohn led the scoring with an impressive 24 points, complemented by Layla Rudolph and Jordan Cremona, who added 13 and 10 points, respectively. Both Rudolph and Cremona also shared the top spot for assists, contributing 3 assists each. Cremona was not only a leader in assists but also dominated rebounds, pulling down 8 throughout the game. Additionally, Coljohn made a significant defensive impact with 5 steals.
By halftime, Holy Name had established a solid lead, showcasing a scoreboard of 27-16. The game also marked an important streak for the Holy Name Green Wave as they secured their second conference win in a row.
The entire Holy Name community celebrated a triumphant evening as the junior varsity and varsity men's teams also recorded wins, making it a clean sweep against Lake Catholic on this memorable Youth Night. The JV team was down 10 to start the 4th quarter and came storming back to take another win at home, which started the night of winning for the Green Wave.
Following this victory, the Holy Name Green Wave are scheduled to face the Independence Blue Devils at home on Monday December 22nd. Current record now stands at 4-4.
