Holy Name Advances to the Elite 8
In a thrilling Regional Semifinal showdown at Alliance High School, the Holy Name Green Wave secured a victory against the Norton Panthers last night on Halloween, with a final score of 3-1. This victory marks another significant achievement for Holy Name, as they advance to the Regional Finals.
Holy Name dominated the first two sets, scoring 25-18 and 25-20 respectively, demonstrating their strong offensive and defensive coordination. Although Norton managed a comeback in the third set with a 25-19 win, Holy Name quickly regained their composure and closed the fourth set at 25-18, clinching the match. Standout performances included Jenevieve Afrates with an impressive 20 kills, alongside Allison Orzech who not only contributed 13 kills but also led the team with 4 aces and 17 digs. Cassie Bower orchestrated the offense skillfully, dishing out 40 assists during the match.
With this win, the Green Wave is set to face Marlington at Alliance High School this Saturday, November 2, at 2pm. This upcoming contest promises to be another exciting match as Holy Name continues their playoff push. Coach Miocinovic has a message for Namer Nation,
