Bay Village Rockets Endure Overtime Defeat to Perkins Pirates in Thrilling Non-Conference Encounter
In a closely contested non-conference varsity basketball game, the Bay Village Rockets suffered a narrow loss to the Perkins Pirates, falling 52-56 after an intense overtime session. The game, held on December 30, 2024, at Perkins High School, showcased both teams exchanging leads with the scoreline never widening beyond a five-point margin throughout the four quarters and overtime.
The halftime score saw the Rockets trailing by just five points, with the scoreboard reading Bay 22, Perkins 27. Despite rallying back and pushing the game to overtime, the Rockets could not clinch the win, wrapping up with a final score of Bay 52, Perkins 56. The top scorers for Bay Village were Norah Trefz, who impressively racked up 23 points, and Caroline Chilton, who contributed 10 points. Their performances underscored a resilient team effort in a high-pressure situation.
