Bay Boys Track and Field Team Secures Victory Over Westlake
The Bay High School Boys Track and Field team clinched a resounding victory against Westlake with an overall score of 97-35 on April 16, 2025, hosted in Bay Village. This dual meet showcased a series of commendable performances by the Rockets, solidifying their reputation as formidable competitors in the track and field sector.
The meet featured several standout performances from Bay High athletes across various events. In the sprinting categories, Cooper Brauxes captured first place in the 100m dash, while also securing second in the 200m. His teammate, Evan Taulbee, contributed significantly by taking third place in both the 100m and as part of the victorious 4x100m relay team alongside Luke Frey, Nick Cebulis, and Cooper Brauxes. In distance running, Michael Hanselman dominated by winning the 1600m, 800m, and 3200m, with Kieran Ripley providing strong support with second-place finishes in both the 800m and 3200m.
The Rockets also demonstrated prowess in hurdles and field events. Max Fischer and Elliot Trefz took second and third respectively in the 110m hurdles and went on to clinch the top two spots in the 300 hurdles. The field events saw impressive wins with Sully Knaack earning firsts in both shot put and discus. Additionally, the team's skill in high jump was on full display as Jackson Smith and Jayden Perrine secured the top two positions.
Looking forward, the Bay High School Rockets are set to compete next at the Bay Village Rocket Invitational on April 19, 2025. The team's recent performance certainly sets a high bar for the upcoming competition as they continue to build on their season's successes.
