Baseball Tournament Championship: Hope International Secures GSAC Title with Victory Over Arizona Christian

MESA, Ariz. -- In a display of skill and strategy, the No. 1-seeded Hope International Royals clinched the GSAC Baseball Tournament Championship by defeating the No. 2-seeded Arizona Christian Firestorm, 8-2. This victory was the fourth straight elimination game won by the Royals at the tournament, including their second on Wednesday.
Hope International established control early in the game. By the end of the third inning, a significant four-run lead was secured, thanks in part to stellar performances from Spencer Davis and Julian Francois. Davis's double and an RBI, coupled with Francois's two hits and two RBIs became defining moments in the Royals' offensive strategy.
Matthew Beckworth of Arizona Christian also found some success with two hits and two RBIs, but it was not enough to shift the momentum in favor of the Firestorm.
The Royals continued to build on their lead with consistent scoring in subsequent innings, including a pivotal fifth inning single by Colby Moran, which further extended their advantage. The prowess displayed by Hope International was reinforced in the eighth inning when Francois delivered an RBI single, ensuring a solid finish and securing the championship title.
Trey Seeley picked up the win after allowing one run in five innings. Josh Landry secured the save by working the final four innings with just one run allowed.
The win clinches the GSAC's automatic invite to the NAIA National Championship. The field will be announced on May 7, with the Opening Round starting on campus sites across the country on May 12.
