In a gripping Championship Game at the GSAC Softball Tournament, Arizona Christian emerged victorious over Embry-Riddle with a final score of 4-3 on Thursday at Eagle Softball Field.

Arizona Christian's early gameplay set the momentum, scoring three runs in the first inning. Embry-Riddle answered back in the later innings, putting runs on the board in the 4th, 5th, and 7th, but could not bridge the gap created by Arizona Christian's robust start. Standout performances included Taylor Fogleman from Arizona Christian, who delivered a crucial 2-RBI single, and Sierra Lauko, who also drove in a run.

While Embry-Riddle showcased resilience, with Anise Romo contributing a double and an RBI, and Lily Anderson and Kealey Myhre each adding to the Eagles' tally.

In the circle, Dayna Herrera played a pivotal role for Arizona Christian, pitching an impressive seven innings, allowing only one earned run and striking out three. She pitched all 14 innings and earned the win in both games on Thursday.

With this championship title, Arizona Christian is poised to head into the NAIA National Championship Opening Round. Their next performance will be keenly anticipated, with the location of their Opening Round assignment to be announced on May 7.
