From the onset, the Bears demonstrated a commanding performance, ending the first half leading 59-12. The team's adjustments in the second half paid off as they kept Fordham from scoring any further points. According to Coach Ryan Grant, the season's progress has been a mix of disciplined hard work and strategic play, culminating in a second consecutive unbeaten season and a 2024 record of 8-0.

"It's bittersweet to see this season come to an end, this group has been incredible to coach and I'm very glad to have had the opportunity to do so,"

said Grant. B-side Captain James Horkan asserted that the job is not quite done for his b-side teammates,

"That match was a great way to cap off our undefeated season. It was fun to play on Marvel field one last time with my fellow seniors. We are now focused on pushing the 1st team in training as they prepare for the national playoff games."

In the scoring tally, the players who scored for Brown included Kenyon Graham and Antonio Cortabarria, each scoring three tries; James Horkan, Toby Achleitner, and Marco Lapierre each added a brace; Jimmy Phelan, Matthew O'Connor, Ben Shirley, Malcolm Grant, and Ethan Liew also scored a try. The conversion kicks were similarly spread around with Kenyon Graham (2), Marco Lapierre (2), Jimmy Phelan, James Horkan, Aaron Mertzel, Toby Achleitner, Matthew O'Connor, and Malcolm Grant all slotting kicks.

Freshman scrumhalf Thomas Bouchard received special praise from coaches for his exceptional performance, playing a crucial role in both attacking phases and on defence. In addition to supporting the ambitions of the top-side, the b-side Bears are preparing for their next opportunity to compete at the Cianci 7's Tournament on Sunday November 24, 2024, at Kevin M. Hurley Middle School in Seekonk, MA, where Brown is the reigning competitive and social divisions champions.

This victory and season accomplishments reflect the dedication and performance standard that the Brown Men's Rugby B-side has set for itself, promising exciting prospects for future engagements. On the way to a perfect 8-0 record, the B Bears scored 508 points while allowing only 48 scored against. Special acknowledgement is due to a group of seniors without whom this level of success would not have been possible; Joe Al-Hasso, Oliver Bieling, Antonio Cortabarria, Jack Elliott, Jack Forgione, Kenyon Graham, James Horkan, Aaron Mertzel, and Carlos Ponce de Leon, a huge thank you for all that you have given to this group and the club on and off the field.
