Regina High School Secures Victory in Volleyball Showdown Against Cranbrook Kingswood

Regina High School's Junior Varsity volleyball team claimed a decisive win against Cranbrook Kingswood during their regular season match held on September 4, 2024, at the Cranbrook Kingswood Keppel Gymnasium. Regina overcame their local rivals with a final score of 2-0, demonstrating their dominance in both sets.

The first set witnessed Regina leading with a convincing 25-14 score, setting a strong pace for the match. They maintained their momentum into the second set, securing a 25-18 victory, which sealed their win. Key performance came from #6 Cara Lefurgey, who topped the chart with 3 kills, contributing significantly to the team's victory.

Regina's defense was particularly strong with #12 Taylor Whitus leading with 2 blocks, while #10 Avrie Catana and #15 Josie Evoy each added 1 block to the team's tally. The match also highlighted effective teamwork in digs and aces; #1 Ava Cuakovski showcased an all-around performance with 10 assists, 5 digs, and an ace, proving pivotal in Regina's strategy.

Addison Fett, reflecting on the team's effort, mentioned,

"We worked hard together as a team. We put in all the effort we could and ended up with a good win."

Coach Shelby Bobowski also praised the team's progression during the game, stating,

"The team started off a little slow tonight but then found their rhythm and was able to win in two today. We had great serve received which led to good sets, which led to great attacks."

Looking ahead, Regina High School is set to face their next challenge at the UWM Sports Complex on September 7, 2024, in the Program Cup. They enter the game with a strong start to the season, holding a 2-0 record, and aim to continue their winning streak with the same level of performance and teamwork displayed in this recent victory.
