In a thrilling regular season volleyball face-off on October 15, Regina High School's JV team emerged victorious, defeating Everest Collegiate with a score of 2-0. The match, held at Regina, showcased intense competition and standout performances, with Regina improving their season record to an impressive 6-2.
The first set saw Regina edge out Everest Collegiate with a score of 25-20. The competition heated up in the second set, culminating in a nail-biting 27-25 win for Regina. Freshman Avrie Catana led the team with 10 kills, demonstrating remarkable skill on the court. Sophomore Cara Lefurgey also contributed significantly with 3 kills.
Defensively, sophomore Evan Campbell was noteworthy, securing 2 blocks that played a crucial role in the win. The game also saw impressive digs and assists, with freshman Natalie Vidro earning 2 digs and Lillyana Pitters accomplishing both 3 aces and 5 assists, highlighting her all-around performance. Avrie Catana and sophomore Marlee Wierszewski each contributed 2 assists.
